Putting on the pads and the helmet for the first time, I knew that this sport was something special to me and it has been a huge part of my life ever since. I’ve had big league dreams since 6 years old, having that dream of stepping foot on an NFL or CFL field with thousands of people cheering me on, its a dream that all athletes have growing up but only a select few are able to reach that part of their careers and I will not be among that list of people. When I was 13 years old I realized how hard it actually is to make it to the league. I took into consideration the long journey I would have to go on and the amount of work I would have to put in to be able to make that dream of playing in front of thousands come true so I called an audible on my future. Still having that goal of making it to the league somehow I have changed lanes into the sports media field. Beginning as a junior beat reporter of the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks in my home city I have been able to create some of the best relationships with athletes, coaches, front office staff and CFL staff from the work I have done surrounding the young CFL franchise. Writing well over 500 Ottawa Redblacks related stories and doing countless of interviews regarding the team I have opened up opportunities to work on a number of other projects, including the largest project of all, in starting JZ Media. JZ Media is my very own sports media platform where, just like your favourite sports media companies like TSN, ESPN or whatever you watch, listen to or read from I cover sports stories, create insane videos, take awesome pictures and I have also created a one of a kind community through JZ Media which you can now find from Dallas, Texas all the way back home to Ottawa, Ontario and a lot of cities in between.
